It was a match made in Nerdville... Tony and Kristen Laidig (pictured here battling it out with lightsabers in dino suits) got married in the fall of 2016.
Having fallen in love with the positive changes happening in Downtown Chambersburg, the Laidigs realized they could complain about having nothing to do in Chambersburg or do something about it. So being mega nerds with a passion for pop culture toys, collectibles, and vintage arcade games, and limited space in their first toy store, they soon began looking for a way to share this love with their local community in a bigger way.
On June 1, 2018, they soft-opened their retail store Nerdvana Outpost, with the grand opening featuring the reveal of the vintage arcade in October 2018.
Nerdvana's "Pop Culture Retail Paradise" experience is much more than a store. From the large-scale set feature of a 15' wide Stargate looming to your left when you walk in the door as you're greeted by Star Trek's "door open" sound (Yeah.... we have a geeky doorbell) to the diorama of Hogwarts stocked full of Harry Potter wands, brooms, books and collectibles... to the Secret "Area 47D" military facility... to the Godzilla vs. UFO vs. Cow mural in the game room, the store is a one-of-a-kind "epic" experience.
The store features the largest Funko POP! selection in the region, nerdy gifts, geeky housewares, the largest selection of D&D figures pretty much anywhere offline, artisan-made prints and collectibles, fun strategy and board games, and a room exclusively for grown-ups with all the snarky and sweary gifts you could want.
Stop by any time to hang out in our arcade and pick up a gift for that hard-to-buy-for loved one (and yourself!). We guarantee you'll have a blast!
